About Bryan Michael

Thriller author Bryan Michael - a man with a beard wearing sunglasses and a black T-shirt. He's sitting at an outdoor bar, holding a can of Able Baker Brewery's Atomic Duck beer with a yellow duck logo.

Bryan Michael writes gritty crime thrillers driven by morally gray characters and high-stakes consequences. A former journalist whose work has appeared in Men’s Journal, VinePair, and Beer Advocate, he spent years traversing the globe covering everything from hole-in-the-wall BBQ joints and dive bars to the culture of craft beer.

His debut novel, Blood Debt, is the first in the Miller Family Thriller series—with Books 2 and 3 scheduled for release in the coming months. The idea for the story came after his own home was broken into.

“We were asleep at the time—this was before our son was born. The alarm scared the intruder off. But I kept wondering—what if it didn’t? Did I have it in me to kill to protect my wife?”

Originally from Ohio, Bryan now lives in North Carolina with his family. When he’s not writing, he’s coaching his son’s go-kart racing, enjoying craft beer, or tending the backyard smoker. He’s obsessed with the mafia, NASCAR, and may or may not be a fan of Nickelback.

His literary influences include Cormac McCarthy, Ernest Hemingway, and Don Winslow.
